250g of beef strips
3 tbsp kepcap manis (sweet soy sauce)
2 tbsp olive oil for cooking
Step 1: Add beef strips to a bowl and combine with sweet soy sauce. Mix well.
Step 2: Allow mixture to marinade for at least 20 minutes but several hours is fine too.
Step 3: Heat a pan to a medium – high heat. Add the olive oil to the pan.
Step 4: When the olive oil begins to smoke slightly add the beef strips. The strips will cook very fast depending on their thickness. About 60 seconds should be long enough to sear the meat. Turn over at this point. Cook for another 60 seconds or so on the other side and serve.
NOTE: When cooking with a sugary marinade the sugars can burn quite quickly. You will need to be mindful that your stove top will be different from others and so you may need to experiment to find the right heat level that will caramelize and cook the meat but not burn the marinade on the meat.
